Ebenezer Nanor (1960)

Ebenezer, or "Eben" as his friends call him, has spent his life in West Africa in the coastal town of Tema, Ghana. We have never met a more talented, natural wood carver. His depictions of village life in his native country seem to move and actually live in the beautiful Ghanaian wood that he works with a hammer and wood chisel.
In Eben's hands, the wood comes alive with activity as he carves men, women, and children going about their daily routine. Men play the native African game "Oware" as women prepare "fufu" for the evening meal, each face is full of expression and seems to jump from the polished one inch thick cedar planks that he calls "wall plaques."

We know that you will agree that these wood reliefs are absolutely stunning.
